If you’ve ever lost a pet, you know how scary it can be to look for them all over the place.
It was a lot more scary for Edward and Kristin. They were almost 6 miles from shore when they lost Rylee, their beloved dog.

On a boat, the three of them took a trip to Michigan. After a while, the boat’s electrics started to go bad. The thing happened at that time. Edward was in the cabin trying to figure out what was wrong while Kristin was outside looking for signs of trouble. Both thought the other had Rylee, their 10-month-old Belgian Malinois.

When they saw each other, they realized that neither of them was with Rylee. They started to look through the boat.
After looking all over the boat, they called Mayday and said quickly that their dog had gone overboard.

The couple and a lot of other boaters were looking for the dog for hours, but when they still hadn’t found it, they were getting desperate.
Lynn Fiedor found out about the situation and used her Lost Dog Search Team Facebook page to help. The Lost Dog Search Team is a group in Michigan that uses social media to help get the word out about lost dogs.

More than 20,000 people started looking for Rylee after seeing the post.
Campers found a dog near the campground, which made the search a success. Edward and Kristin ran to the campground to see if it was their dog, and it was so nice to see them all again.

Rylee swam for six miles and then walked for another twelve miles before she found her family again. That’s how a man’s best friend acts.
Rylee is a really great dog because she ran what is basically a marathon to find her family again. How do you feel about this incredible story? Tell us in the comments!
