“I recently relocated from Bettendorf, IA at the beginning of the month. I was shopping at Hy-Vee. I ride the bus to the city. I make it to the cashier and the cashier is checking my shopping list and I realize that I’ve put the EBT cards at home. I inform her that I want to cancel the whole thing , and that I’ll need to return at a later date. She contacts the manager and asks him whether I’d like to return later in the day, and they can keep my cart until. I informed them that, since the bus is my sole transportation option and it is a huge strain of me just to do my round-trip, will not be returning this day.
The lady in front of me in line demanded the cashier to explain the reason for her question. The cashier explained it to her, she was wrong, and then asked me “Can you pay for your food items? I’d love to have it!’ At first, I thought that it was a joke. I was hesitant, but I was able to see kindness in her eyes, and I definitely needed the food. I repeatedly asked her”Are you sure? It’s a large sum of money. I insisted, and I agreed to do it subject to only one thing… She allowed me to give her an embrace. I was given a hug. kiss which I thanked often and tears rolled down my eyes. I snapped a photo of her with two motives, one to remember her generosity , and the second reason was to pass it on to anyone else, hoping that in the future, it comes back to her. Her gift was truly a blessing that I’ll never forget. Be blessed to this lady and her angels who came to me at a time when I was in desperate need of it! I couldn’t find her name, but she certainly impressed me and helped to make my belief in the human race much greater one! “Thank you…Whoever they are, thank you!”
