This officer decided to assist the little bear despite its danger to him. Even though it is dangerous to approach a bear and her cubs, some people have a lot of courage and a big heart, and they choose to do so.

Thomas Owens is the name of a police officer who works for the Town of Carroll Police Department. Because he is from New Hampshire, the man had probably seen a lot of bears by the time he came face-to face with this particular bear.

The time Thomas worked coincided with the crossing of a mother bear and her cubs across the road. As they crossed the streets, he stopped and waited patiently, but they returned and began crossing the street again after a while. He quickly realized that this was yet another cub who had been unable to cross the road in front of him for whatever reason. The mother bear and her three cubs then vanished into the woods. This officer made the decision to act.

Thomas approached the small bear and immediately called the New Hampshire Fish and Wildlife Department. They were determined to assist, but they were also aware of the situation at hand. If the mother bear returned at any point and discovered that someone had been standing next to her cub, she would most certainly not be at ease.

Soon after, officials from the Fish and Wildlife Service arrived and discovered another cub present. These two sick bears have received all of the necessary care, and once they have recovered, they will be released-back into-the-wild in the direction of their home. Thomas even posed for a photo with the little bear he wished he could help but couldn’t because of a scheduling conflict.
