An adorable blue-eyed, black lemur was born at a Florida zoo. It is one of the most endangered primates in the world.
The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens announced the primate on Facebook. It is believed to be the second ever blue-eyed, black lemur born at the facility.
The lemur will be kept in a secure area by its parents until the time it is old enough for integration with the rest of the group.
This lemur species is the only one in the world with blue eyes.

Although the baby’s fur appears to be brown, it will eventually develop a darker color and become black.
These lemurs are tiny and likely to only grow to five pounds.
This special species is native to northwestern Madagascar. Its wild population is less than 1000.
Facebook wrote that the center stated that every birth of these species was critical for their long-term sustainability.
