When Walt Disney first conceived of an amusement park, he had one goal in mind: to make a place that families with children and adults of all ages could visit and have fun together.

Since that time, people’s attention has been drawn to amusement parks, and nowadays, many adults and children alike enjoy spending their vacations in these parks. On the other hand, going to Disneyland and being the attraction’s very first customer is a kind of occation that only happens once in a person’s lifetime.

In 1955, Dace MacPherson had the good fortune to be Disneyland’s first paying customer. As a gift of their appreciation, they presented him with a lifetime ticket that granted him unrestricted access to the theme park for the rest of his life.

Dave had been attending college for two decades at that point and was 22 years old when he finally got the opportunity to go to Disneyland. When he first heard about the opening of this magnificent park, he was absolutely ecstatic despite the fact that he was attending Long Beach State College at the time.

As time has passed, you may have arrived at the conclusion that it was relatively simple for him to become the first customer given that most people were not familiar with the concept. If you believed that, you could not be more wrong! It was not a fluke that he was the first person to walk through the door.

Dave was filled with awe when he first saw the opening festivities of Disneyland on television, which was done when the park was opened for celebrities. It was everything that anyone could ever hope for, and at that moment, the idea came to him to be the first of all the commoners to enter the park. It was everything that anyone could ever imagine.

He had no another choice but to hop on his bicycle and ride to Anaheim, California, which is located 10 miles away from Long Beach, California. He arrived at the location at 2:00 am, waited for a few more hours, and then bought the first ticket that was made available to the general public. Dave was the park’s first customer, so he was granted the right to free entry into the park. Ever since then, he has made it a tradition to go to the park once a year.

Dave MacPherson was only 22 years old when he went to Disneyland for the first time.
