We always want to thank the people who give their time without expecting anything in return.
Someone helping a lonely neighbor, saving an Orca whale that got stuck on a beach, or doing other amazing charity work, we always love them for it. The work that volunteers do is amazing, and they make the world a better place for everyone.

Meet the hardworking volunteers of the “Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project” in Houston, Texas. They give their time, energy, money, and love to saving stray dogs in their area. The number of stray animals, especially dogs, in Houston is a big surprise.

Since they began a few years ago, the group has saved more than 864 dogs from the 5th Ward alone. Sad to say, nobody knows why there are so many stray animals in Houston. It could be wild animals or people who just give up their dogs. Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project is working hard to make sure these dogs can stay alive.

They have fed a lot of dogs in the past. The group is really great. When they get a dog off the street, they try to find a forever home for it where it can live a happy life. No more sleeping on the street and chasing hungry dogs through the cold rain. Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project is a no-kill rescue group. This means that no matter how long it takes, they will do everything they can to find a good home for a dog.

They are also very picky about where the dogs go to live, to make sure they go to happy, loving homes.

This is a story about a volunteer who found a homeless dog and took an amazing picture of it. The picture was able to show what a real problem is for far too many dogs. Being homeless, cold, and alone while living outside. Animal lovers everywhere were saddened by the picture, and it went viral.

A lot of animal lovers were moved by this picture. A dog is sleeping with a stuffed animal that is dirty but still comfortable. As it sleeps, it looks like the dog is almost on top of it. Volunteers with Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward see dogs sleeping outside in the cold and by themselves all the time.

At the time, the volunteers were out feeding the strays and catching a few of them so they could take them to the rescue center, where they would eventually find a forever home. Then a volunteer saw this dog sleeping and took a picture of him. She knew that seeing the problem in such a strong way would break the hearts of many animal lovers.

They couldn’t catch the dog because their van was already full of dogs ready to go to the rescue center. So, they decided to quickly leave the dogs and come back later to get the dog that was sleeping. Unfortunately, when they came back, both the dog and the stuffed animal were gone.

But they did meet Calvin, who lived in the area and was 89 years old. Calvin told the volunteers that he owned the dog, but the dog always got out and ended up living on the streets again. He has not been able to find the dog again.

Calvin has also been doing what he can to help the stray dogs in the 5th Ward. The dogs that came by were fed and cared for. This dog got out and ran away, and he’s been looking for him ever since. The volunteers offered to help Calvin pay for vet bills, like having his dogs spayed or neutered. Calvin really appreciated the help. It’s so nice to see people who care about animals working together!

It’s too bad that this story doesn’t have a happy ending right now, but the volunteers are still trying to find the sleeping dog and any other homeless dogs so they can give them the forever homes they deserve.

The dog in the picture is sadly one of many thousands, and nonprofit groups like Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project will keep working to make sure that one day all dogs will be able to find forever homes.
