Joy-Anna, 22, and Austin Forysth, 26, discussed their baby Annabell Elise’s miscarriage.
She recalled how they heard the devastating news: “Austin and I went in for our 20 week ultrasound to find out the gender, and she was going to tell us the gender, and she’s like, ‘I don’t hear a heartbeat’, and there was no heartbeat.”
And I was like, ‘Oh, is your monitor messed up?’ I was devastated when I realized what she was saying. “I sobbed.”
Then you’re like, ‘Is this really happening?'” ‘Something’s wrong.’ It’s not easy.”
“I just kept thinking, ‘I hope my wife is okay.'” “Having the baby was simply such a relief that Joy went through it alright and that we could start the grief process, start healing, and get through life.”
The couple also revealed the meaning of their unborn child’s name.
“We didn’t decide on a name until right before we left the hospital,” Joy-Anna said.
“We were looking at names, and Annabell stood out to me. It was a moniker I had when I was younger. So I thought that would be lovely, and it meant ‘God has rewarded me.'” And Elise did a great job with it.”
They also mentioned why they chose Fort Rock for Annabell’s last resting place “since so much of our magic transpired there.
“We were engaged, we started dating out there, and we buried Annabell out at Fort Rock after she was born.”
Austin and Joy-Anna buried Annabell in a tombstone and planted a tree to “watch her grow” throughout the episode.
Lauren Duggar, Josiah Duggar’s wife, claimed she’s been assisting Joy-Anna through the problematic period because she, too, had a miscarriage.
“It’s great to know that someone is praying and thinking of you,” Lauren added.
