When the weather is pleasant, John and Alex Sanders enjoy the wind by keeping the door open. About six months ago, they were sitting outside with the door open when a cat came in, greeted them, and sat down as if it were their home.

“He just strolled in like he owned the business,” said John Sanders, who talked to The Dodo.

After looking at its nameplate, they learnt that the cat’s name was Tigger. They promptly contacted his family and knew that Tigger lived down the block and enjoyed exploring the neighbourhood.

At the time, Tigger was returned to his family, and the couple figured that was the end of the matter, but Tigger had other plans.

“He came back the next day, and every day after that,” John claimed.

Since then, the tiny man has paid frequent visits to his new best friends, passing by twice a day and returning for the night.

Tigger’s family has agreed to let him do whatever he wants. For some reason, he has picked the Sanderses as his second family.

“Tig’s self-directed schedule is as follows: he used to spend the entire night between 9 and 11 p.m.,” John explained. She would let Alex out when he went out for coffee. He visits us between 12-2, 4-6, and still stays the night now that we are at home during COVID. We don’t see it every day, but those days are few and far between. It’s something we visit twice a day, every day.”

Tigger was taught to return to his home at night by the couple. Still, they eventually gave up and decided to let Tigger sleep wherever he chose.

When the door is closed, Tigger begins to meow, pleading with you to open it. The Sanderses are, without a doubt, a member of his family.

“Tig’s parents have confirmed that he does precisely what he wants and has chosen us,” John continued. They have expressed relief that he is safe and comfortable and that he does not roam the streets.”

Despite the couple having no idea why the cat chose them and continuing to sneak home to hang out, they are pleased with their current situation. They adore him and treat him as if he were a member of their own family.
